Frequently Asked Questions

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapeutic process.
I typically begin with a complimentary 20-minute consultation for new clients so that we can explore whether we may be a good fit. Starting therapy is a meaningful investment of your time, energy, and resources, and I value taking the time on the front end to better understand what you’re looking for and whether my approach and areas of focus align with your needs. The consultation is an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, ask any questions you may have, and get a sense of what it might be like to work together.
My practice is especially well suited for women navigating anxiety, life transitions, and concerns related to self-esteem and identity. If you’re unsure whether we may be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out. If another therapist or specialty may be a better match for your needs, I’m happy to discuss options and offer referrals or resources when possible.

First Session
If we decide to begin working together, the first session gives us more time to start getting to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’re currently trying to sift through, any relevant parts of your history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. From there, we can begin developing some goals and get a sense of what may be most helpful to focus on.You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. It’s completely okay to begin with a general sense that something feels difficult, that you’d like things to feel different, or that there are parts of yourself or your life you’d like to understand more deeply.
Session Frequency and Length
Most clients begin with weekly, 50–55 minute sessions, which allows us to build consistency and momentum in our work together. Over time, we can adjust how often we meet based on your needs, goals, and where you are in the process. There is no single timeline for therapy. Some people come during a particular challenge or season of life, while others choose to continue for deeper self-exploration and personal growth. Along the way, we’ll check in about how therapy is feeling, the progress you’re making, and what continues to feel most helpful for you. As your needs evolve, we can make adjustments to our work together, and if a different type of support would ever be beneficial, we’ll talk openly about what may best support you moving forward.
Ending Therapy
You are always able to end therapy when you feel the time is right. When it’s possible, I encourage taking the time to have an intentional transition, as the closure of therapy can be a meaningful part of the process itself. Ending therapy gives us an opportunity to reflect on your growth, recognize the work that you’ve done, and consider what you’d like to carry with you moving forward. -

I am out-of-network with most insurance companies. I currently accept Aetna and Carelon insurance plans.
For clients using out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Coverage, reimbursement amounts, and required documentation vary depending on your specific plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning therapy to confirm your eligibility and understand your available benefits.
